Extended Access

The Practice offers appointments outside the normal opening hours to accommodate patients who work or cannot get the surgery during normal opening hours. The Practice will offer appointments on Monday’s and Friday’s between 6.30pm – 7pm.

Extended Hours

Coventry Road Practice is working together with the North Solihull Collaborative (NSC) which is a group of 11 practices located in the North of Solihull to provide extended access services.

This will provide pre-bookable appointments between the hours of 18:30 – 20:00 Mon – Fri and Saturday all day.

The extended access hub will be located at Bosworth Medical Centre in Chelmsley Wood.

When We Are Closed

If you need a doctor in an emergency and the surgery is closed telephone the usual surgery number (0121 743 2154), and the answer phone will tell you how to contact a doctor.

The NHS 111 service is available to deal with emergency and non emergency queries. They can be contacted by dialling 111.

The Urgent Primary Care service based at Solihull Hospital will provide an urgent ‘see and treat’ service for patients with minor illnesses. This service will be for patients without a prior booked appointment. Patients will need to report to the Urgent Primary Care reception located next to the existing Minor Injuries Unit.

Patients are advised to call 111 before attending any urgent care services as alternative services are available and more are coming on line in November. These include the options to direct patients directly to a pharmacist or to speak to a dental nurse for example.

Children who appear very unwell or need urgent treatment for a serious illness or injury should be taken to Heartlands Hospital A&E rather than Solihull Hospital.

NHS 111 Online

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally.

Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:

  • Treat yourself at home
  • Go to a Primary Care Centre

If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.
